A supplement issue of the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases entitled 'Typhoid fever and the introduction of the typhoid conjugate vaccine in Africa and Asia' has been published online.
The supplement features numerous papers from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Typhoid vaccine acceleration consortium (TyVAC)' project, the epidemiology component of which is led by Prof John Crump (PI) and Dr. Christian Marchello (postdoctoral fellow) at the University of Otago.Papers include a systematic review of global typhoid fever incidence studies, and a study of enteric fever incidence in Yangon, Myanmar.
