Selection process
To maintain the high quality of the “Hands-On at Otago” experience, numbers are restricted.
Priority is given to senior students and to students who have not previously attended the programme.
Scholarships
All scholarships require completion of the scholarship application online. There is an option for scholarship application at the end of your general application.

Notification
A letter will be sent to all students by mid to late November advising of acceptance into the programme as well as their allocated project.
Payment
Payment must be made within 4 weeks to confirm your place. Receipts are not issued unless requested.
Cancellation
Why didn't I get the project I wanted?
Unfortunately, each project has a limited number of places. We will try our best to place you into the project you select but if that's not possible, we will work very hard to find space in a project that is closely related to the ones you have chosen. We do try very hard to place everyone satisfactorily!
If you do not like your allocated project you can cancel your place in the programme. You will need to do this before Friday 1 December 2023.
If your cancellation is received between 2 December 2023 and 1 January 2024, a 50 per cent fee refund will be made. After 1 January 2024 there will be no refunds.
Legal stuff
The University of Otago reserves the right to alter components of the programme, to cancel or terminate the programme, or to reject an application for enrolment.
