Research
Lesley joined the Department in 2008 as a senior lecturer. Lesley gained Fellowship with the UK Faculty of Public Health and has over 30 years’ experience establishing and managing services in Public Health and Primary Care. Lesley is particularly interested in health risk behaviours – why we do what we do – and how health professionals might positively influence health behaviour. She has a Masters in Public Health from Glasgow University and Masters in Interprofessional Collaboration with longstanding interest in the interface between primary health care, social welfare and public health.Lesley’s research interests concern risk perception and health risk behaviours. Lesley is a member of the Applied Research on Communication in Health (ARCH) Group. She is also involved in the Health Workforce New Zealand funded project looking at interprofessional education (TIPE: Tairāwhiti interprofessional education programme) and the longitudinal interprofessional study (LIPS).
