Research

My main research interest lies in clinical orthopaedic surgery. Within this large field my interests have included lower limb arthroplasty, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendon injuries and screening of hip dysplasia.

My MD thesis Managing the Demand for Elective Orthopaedic Surgery: Challenges, Strategies, and Results in New Zealand comprises 37 publications looking at drivers of demand, improving non-operative management of hip and knee osteoarthritis, prioritisation tools, improving perioperative management and long term outcomes of hip and knee replacement.
