Research
Cristina is a Nutrition Researcher with a strong interest in disease prevention in both low and high income countries. She recently completed her PhD investigating the relationships between agrobiodiversity, dietary diversity and nutritional status in Tanzania. Prior to her PhD, Cristina had been working as a Research Fellow in the Nutritional Epidemiology Group at the University of Leeds on a number of obesity prevention and dietary improvement interventions in both children and adults.
As a senior research fellow in the Burden of Disease Epidemiology, Equity and Cost-Effectiveness Programme (BODE3), Cristina is currently working on the modelling of burden of disease, intervention effectiveness and cost-effectiveness with a focus on interventions which could reduce the use of tobacco and modify dietary intake in the New Zealand population.
