Research

Gagan gained his PhD in public health from the University of Otago in 2017. His research interests include health policy and systems, health services, and patient and public engagement.

He was a recipient of University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship. He was also the recipient of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine Early Career Researcher Award for 2017.

He worked as a Professional Practice Fellow (Teaching Health Policy and Politics) and Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Preventive and Social Medicine and Otago Business School from May 2017 till April 2019. Gagan has been currently working as a Research Fellow at Department of General Practice and Rural Health, University of Otago.
