Research

My research focuses on education-based interventions to improve the outcomes of our students, as well as impacts on patient care. Educational research is broad and encompasses numerous quantitative and qualitative methodologies and analysis techniques.

My primary areas of interest are in assessment, communication, accreditation, curriculum design, and scholarship in teaching and learning. My research platform largely relates to the use of qualitative assessment data for pass-fail decision-making in competency-based educational systems. This research expands across many contexts, including simulation, OSCEs, experiential training (workplace-based assessment), entrustable professional activities (EPAs), and interprofessional education.

I am currently recruiting graduate students for projects relating to educational interventions in pharmacy and other health-related disciplines.
