Good progress is being made on the demolition of the old interior of the Walsh Building in preparation for a new fitout which is part of Stage 2 of the Dental School Redevelopment.
The photo (above) shows the fourth floor of the Walsh Building which has been completely cleared in preparation for refitting as labs for research in areas such as Bio Materials and Histology as well as a PC 2 Molecular Microbiology lab.
The main contractor will continue demolition down the remaining floors of the 1960s building, with fitout following closely behind.
The fitout is expected to start this month on the upper floors, with demolition expected to continue for another couple of months.
