Thanksgiving_Candles story

The Department of Anatomy held its annual Thanksgiving Service in Dunedin recently. Family and friends of our donors, along with staff and students attended the service to honour and remember those generous people who have donated their body to medical science teaching and research.

Students studying Anatomy as part of their medical, dental, science and physiotherapy studies played key roles in the service, providing music, singing and their own words of thanks to the donors and their families. A particularly moving part of the service was when families were invited to light a candle in memory of their loved one.

The next Thanksgiving Service will be held in Christchurch in 2020. If you would like to receive information about this service please contact the Department of Anatomy at anatomy@otago.ac.nz .
