Overview
Fn14 is a member of the Tumour Necrosis Factor receptor superfamily, and aberrant overexpression of Fn14 (TNFRSF12A) is a known driver of malignant behaviour in a variety of cancers. Mechanisms leading to Fn14 deregulation during malignant progression however, remain unclear. The aim of this project is to molecularly and functionally characterise the promoter of the Fn14 gene in normal vs malignant cells to gain insight into cancer cell mechanisms impacting aberrant Fn14 gene expression.
