Life’s Nurse: Exploring the effects of sleep on Medical Imaging students using Fitbit
The aim of this study is to explore a student’s experience of sleep and how it impacts on their performance and wellbeing by using Fitbit devices. This study will provide valuable information to students and educators alike. Students, often stressed and time-poor, may find themselves sacrificing sleep in order to achieve higher grades at the expense of their wellbeing. Investigating sleep may encourage students to give sleep a higher priority; it will also enable them to understand sleep patterns and improve their sleep quality. Likewise, investigating whether sleep duration and quality have an impact on the performance of students in the clinical setting will be valuable for students looking to improve their performance. This may empower students to make lifestyle changes to enhance their wellbeing and improve their performance in both clinical and academic spaces. Understanding the importance of sleep will empower students not only in their studies, but in their professional careers.
