Tiernan talkA full capacity crowd attends Professor Tiernan's keynote address.

Sonja Tiernan, Eamon Cleary Professor of Irish Studies gave the inaugural keynote address for the Embassy of Ireland Summer School in New Zealand Parliament.

Sonja delivered her address to mark the publication of the first mapping project of Irish citizens to cover an entire country in the Grand Hall and Old Legislative Council Chambers at New Zealand Parliament on 29 January 2021. The event was facilitated by the honourable Paul Eagle MP.

The event was part of the Irish Embassy’s Summer School, ‘Small Nations, Big Ideas,’ and was attended with a full capacity including a range of New Zealand politicians and friends of Ireland.
