GREK211 Intermediate Greek

A consolidation of linguistic skills in Greek, and a study of selected Greek prose texts from the Classical period.

This paper builds on the foundation of GREK 111 and 112, and its principal aim is to consolidate your knowledge of Greek and develop your reading skills further. Your training in essential Greek accidence and syntax will be completed and additional vocabulary will be introduced, while you continue to apply that knowledge to the reading and translating of Greek texts. You may also increase your understanding of the influence of Greek on the English language, but the final objective is that you should come to think in Greek more and need to 'translate' less.
