This event management paper aims to develop students’ professional knowledge, skills and values necessary for a career in event management. Students will learn how to plan, design, project manage, implement and critically analyse event experiences for a range of settings and develop work-ready skills relevant for event industries. On successful completion, students will be able to gain relevant expertise in various aspects of event management including teamwork, leadership, sponsor management, event marketing, event evaluation and project management. The paper contains a mix of theory and experiential learning as students will be required to work in groups to design, market, project manage and implement an event of their own choice.
