Kai-culator is a programme developed by the Department of Human Nutrition at the University of Otago for researchers, teachers, students, nutritionists and dietitians who want to analyse food and nutrient intake.
Kai-culator enables the user to determine individual and group intakes of nutrients and foods from dietary data such as diet records and 24 hour recalls, with functionality designed and supported by a team of expert nutritionists, dietitians and health researchers at the University of Otago.
Kai-culator uses the New Zealand food composition database “NZ FOODfiles”. Other food composition databases can be accessed on application to the developers.
In the near future we hope to be able to make Kai-culator available to people outside the Department of Human Nutrition. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact us.
