The annual conference for the Nutrition Society of New Zealand will be held at the end of August in Queenstown with the theme "Balancing Views". The conference will include sessions on diabetes, probiotics, and nutrition controversies, as well as short talks on a range of topics such as health claims, the sodium content of fast foods, and the effectiveness of mandatory fortification of bread with iodized salt. President of the Nutrition Society, Associate Professor Sheila Skeaff, encourages all those with an interest in nutrition to attend, including academics, students, health professionals, and interested members of the public.
