The sports nutrition and exercise metabolism research group comprises a core group of researchers conducting field, laboratory and survey-based research into the effects of nutrition on sports performance as well as the interaction of food and physical activity on health. Post-graduate research is an important part of our activities with students researching elite and non-elite athletes throughout New Zealand and the Pacific.
Staff are involved in both physical activity, nutrition and health interactions outcomes over the lifespan and the role nutrition has on sports performance in both elite and non-elite athletes.
