The team here at the Department of Nutrition have a wide range of interests across many fields of Human Nutrition.
Whether it is staff members, PhD or Masters Students the areas of research our team are involved in have high international reputations. As the longest established university Department of Human Nutrition in New Zealand we make a major contribution to the discipline of nutrition both nationally and internationally.
Many of the projects are carried out in collaboration with other departments and institutions both within the University and overseas – Dusseldorf, Guelph, London, Oxford, Sydney, Oregon State University, Wageningen, Vanderbilt University, Human Nutrition Research Centre, Grand Forks, USA; Centre for Human Nutrition, University of Colorado, Denver, USA; College of Medicine, University of Malawi, Malawi, Africa, Institute of Food Research, Norwich, UK.
Our team also collaborates with other staff within the Department and University, including the School of Physical Education and Departments of Medicine, Anatomy and Preventive and Social Medicine.
We maintain links with a number of sporting organisations including High Performance Sport NZ, Drug Free Sport NZ, provincial rugby unions, Super Rugby franchises and a number of national sporting bodies.
