The HR Professional Development programme covers a wide range of topics, including professional, self-management and supervisory skills.
Academic Leadership Development Programme
The Academic Leadership Development Programme is designed for prospective and current Heads of Department, Directors of Centre, and Associate Deans.
Higher Education Development Centre (HEDC)
The Higher Education Development Centre works in partnership with the staff and students of the University to promote, support and enhance the ideals, knowledge and values of higher education.
The HEDC provides a wide range of opportunities for the professional development of academic staff. This includes support, such as one-on-one consultancies to improve aspects of teaching, as well as more formal staff development workshops and postgraduate courses on tertiary teaching.
Treaty of Waitangi education programme
The HEDC and Human Resources jointly offer a Treaty of Waitangi education programme. This includes introductory workshops on Māori language, Māori culture and the Treaty of Waitangi.
Health & Safety training
The Health & Safety team offer a comprehensive health and safety training programme.
The ITS Division offers a comprehensive range of computer courses available to all staff.
Financial Services training
The Financial Services Division training programme aims to support and improve financial management. Their courses enable academic and general staff members to make more effective use of the University's financial systems.
