Higher Education Development Centre (HEDC)
The Higher Education Development Centre works in partnership with the staff and students of the University to promote, support and enhance the ideals, knowledge and values of higher education.
The HEDC provides a wide range of opportunities for the professional development of academic staff. This includes support, such as one-on-one consultancies to improve aspects of teaching, as well as more formal staff development workshops and postgraduate courses on tertiary teaching.

Treaty of Waitangi education programme
The HEDC and Human Resources jointly offer a Treaty of Waitangi education programme. This includes introductory workshops on Māori language, Māori culture and the Treaty of Waitangi.
