Exit Interview Process at Otago

Who can request an exit interview?  

Staff who are resigning from the University can request an exit interview by contacting the Equity Office (equity@otago.ac.nz).

How is the information used?

Feedback from exit interviews is collated and summarised in an Annual Exit Interview Report. The Report is anonymised and focusses on key themes such as views on the University as an employer, on University processes or environment and suggestions.

Who conducts exit interviews?

In most cases HR representatives conduct exit interviews. Staff can request an exit interview by contacting the Equity Office (equity@otago.ac.nz).

What is covered at an exit interview?

The interview is tailored to the individual and typically the following topics are covered:

  • Feedback on the University as an employer
  • Feedback on the workplace and environment
  • Suggestions for future (within a department/whole University)
