Bias and Variance Decompositions of Genetic Programming

Caitlin’s PhD research aims to decompose the error associated with genetic programming in order to determine how modifications to the algorithm perform in the trade-off between reducing error due to bias and error due to variance. She completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Information Science and Computer Science in 2014 and a Master of Business Data Science (with Distinction) in 2016. She has also tutored for a number of Information Science papers (INFO213, INFO323, INFO324/424).
