Nau mai, haere mai, tauti mai!
The Office of Māori Development and the International Office (Student Exchange) have an exciting new opportunity for students of Māori descent to pursue tertiary education and have an international experience at one of our partner universities (with reciprocal arrangements for the Tūrangawaewae, Pōkai Whenua (TPW) universities to send their students to Otago – details on this will be added here later).
Tūrangawaewae, Pōkai Whenua is a unique student exchange built on kanohi-ki-te-kanohi (face-to-face) relationships established between mana whenua and indigenous representatives of universities overseas.
Some of the significant costs, including accommodation, are covered as part of the exchange. There is also a $1,000 travel grant to help meet expenses.
Apply for the programme
Applications for Tūrangawaewae, Pōkai Whenua will be accepted from Otago's semester 2, 2023. The new application form will be available here once available.
