About ITAM

Mexico City

ITAM (Rio Hondo Campus)in San Ángel. Mexico City is the capital city of Mexico and it is the most important centre for financial, economic and cultural events of the country. Mexico City is the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the western hemisphere. The city was originally built by the Aztecs in 1325 on an island of Lake Texcoco and the municipality of Mexico City was established in 1524. Yet the visible history of the area goes back another 2000 years with the ruins of Teotihuacan.

The greater Mexico City area has a population topping 20 million people. It is one of the greatest metropolies and truly one of the greatest cities in the world complete with anything you might expect to find in New York, Paris or Tokyo (but with a distinct Mexican flavour). A must see for that reason alone.
