Welcome

To the Sixth International Outdoor Education Research Conference – Future faces: Outdoor education research innovations and visions.

This four day conference was held at St Margaret’s College and the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand from 26 – 29 November 2013.

Purpose of the conference

Future faces: Outdoor education research innovations and visions conference will build on the five previous outdoor education research conferences held at Buckinghamshire New University (UK) in 2002, La Trobe University (Australia) in 2004 and 2009, the University of Central Lancashire (UK) in 2006, and in Denmark in 2011.

This conference will continue to promote and develop an international community of researchers whose work critically examines outdoor education theory and practice.

The conference programme is designed to maximise opportunities for intellectual exchange amongst participants. As is the practice of this conference, a half day of activities and excursions will be organised to explore the local environment and foster further discussion in different contexts.
