University of Otago Southland Campus, Invercargill

ITS provides IT services and support to students and staff on the University of Otago’s Southland Campus in Invercargill. These services include:

Audiovisual (AV) conferencing and meetings

Videoconferencing sessions held with the University of Otago’s Dunedin campus take place in the AV Room, Main Block.

Computer network access

University of Otago staff and students have wired and wireless access to the University’s computer network in all buildings throughout Southland Campus. For more information about connecting to the University’s different networks, please refer to the information below:

Printing

The Southland Campus Library offers swipe-card printing. You can use your student University of Otago ID card as a swipe-card for:

  • accessing the printers in the Southland Campus Library
  • using the EFTPOS machine to add more money to your swipe card account for printing

Software

Software licenses available for students at the University of Otago

Student computer areas

The following computing facilities are provided for students on the University of Otago’s Southland Campus:

  • A Windows (PC) computer lab and the Library computing area are both available for student use. These computer areas have printers that can scan, copy, and print in both colour and black and white.
  • The computer lab is available for students to use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All student computer areas on the Southland Campus have the standard University of Otago student desktop with a wide range of software, Internet and email access.
