Computers on the University of Otago network are not automatically backed up by ITS.
- ITS can provide a centralised backup service for all departmental servers – Windows (Win2K or later), Unix, Linux and Mac systems – on the campus networks. ITS also offers backup services for other business modules (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Exchange and Cluster Clients)
- A full system backup is performed weekly or monthly depending on your systems' specifications. Every night all files changed since the previous full backup will also be backed up
- Files can be recovered from backup as and when you need them
