Information Technology Services (ITS) supports and maintains 84 lecture theatres for the University of Otago:

These are known as the 'pool' lecture theatres because these are the lecture theatres used by Timetable Services for accommodating each semester's classes.

Available equipment

These facilities are equipped with up-to-date computers (both Windows and Mac-based) and other equipment such as:

  • data projectors
  • visual presenters (document camera)
  • whiteboards
  • network ports for laptops
  • radio microphones
  • speaker systems
  • data collection systems, H-ITT devices ('clickers').

Do you need assistance with the University of Otago lecture theatre facilities?

Our lecture theatre technicians are here to help you make the best use of the lecture theatres. Contact them prior to your booking to set up a time when they can walk you through using the equipment that is available.

Lecture theatre staff are available between 7.30am and 9pm, Monday to Friday (or other times by prior arrangement) in the campus area offices to help you when using rooms on the Dunedin campus.
