How to book

If you are a University of Otago staff member, most of our courses are free to you. Where there is a charge, you need to fill in the Finance One account code.

Students can attend almost any course, but Student courses are far cheaper as these are subsidised by Student IT. Student bookings can be done online by credit card (or in person by Eftpos).

Members of the public can also book onto our courses and pay online by credit card or arrange to be invoiced.

How to make a Staff or Student booking

Find the Sign In button and click that to login using your university username and password.

Then when you see a course you want to attend, press the Make Booking link beside the date.

In the Class Details page, press the Make Staff Booking or Make Student Booking link.

Your details should already be filled in by the system, so correct any you'd like, tell us where you heard about the course, and press the Place Booking button.

Fill in payment details

If the course is not free, you need to arrange payment. Staff need to fill in their department's Finance One account code. Students need to pay by credit card.

Confirmation Emails

You will receive an email confirming your booking immediately, followed by a second email closer to the time which confirms that we have enough attendees to go ahead with the course.

See which courses you've already attended

Students and Staff can sign in and see their attendance history. This includes ITS and Financial Services training courses. (For IT Training attendance prior to January 2014, contact it.training@otago.ac.nz)

How to make a public booking

Members of the public can book onto most courses as well. Instead of signing in, follow links to a course and press the Make Booking link beside the date of the session.

In the Class Details page, press the Make Non-University Booking link.

Fill in your details, tell us where you heard about the course, etc.

Then press the Proceed to Payment button at the bottom of the screen.

Fill in payment details

Enter your credit card details. If you do not wish to pay this way, you can contact us to arrange payment by invoice.
