Peter Barton

Teaching Fellow German Programme

Peter delivers German language courses for those at beginners and intermediate level. He studied for an honours degree in German at Otago and completed a Masters in History of Art at Birkbeck College, University of London. He wrote his PhD dissertation on the early prose works of the Austrian author, Thomas Bernhard. Apart from Bernhard, his research interests include contemporary Austrian literature, psychoanalysis, early Romantic philosophy, and the critical theory of Slavoj Žižek.
