International students may choose to complete an entire degree at Otago, take one or more papers here as part of an Exchange or Study Abroad programme, or conduct postgraduate research at Otago as a visiting student.

Student Exchange and Study Abroad
The University of Otago has a thriving Exchange programme with dedicated partner universities, and also a separate Study Abroad programme that students can access regardless of the university that they attend.
Exchange and Study Abroad students from overseas can enrol in a large number of Law papers (subject to Faculty approval and excluding 200-level papers).

Visiting students
Visiting students are postgraduate students enrolled in degree programmes at overseas institutions, who wish to visit Otago for research purposes, but without formally enroling in a degree programme or papers while they are here.
The Faculty of Law welcomes visiting students and values the important contribution that overseas postgraduate students can make to our rich and diverse research community.
Prospective visiting students are kindly requested to contact the International Co‑ordinator for the Faculty to discuss a proposed visit. You can find the current International Co‑ordinator listed on our staff page:
English requirements
If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of a sufficient level of English language proficiency to study Law at Otago.
Students who wish to study Law must have a minimum IELTS score of 7.5.
