Happy House cover

The children’s story The Happy House was written by Gwen Whitaker and printed between 1967 and 1968 by Herta (Gamby) Quinn. Much time and effort was spent on setting up the 28 pages of text, including the title-page. Unusually, this item was limited to only fourteen copies, and it was not for sale. It is a rare book, and there are no institutional copies. The Bibliography Room is not equipped for binding books; the quarter-bound coloured cloth binding was obviously done by an outside agency. And here is the art-deco block again, used this time to illustrate the Maslen family’s Christmas Greetings.
