Mt Ida

1970 was busier. Iain Lonie (1932-1988) was an authority on ancient medicine who lectured in Classics at Otago University. His Letters to Ephesus: Poems was set and proofed by the author, Eric Ashby, and the English class of 1969. The cover was designed by Jonathan Lonie, and the final product – 250 copies – was published on 20 November 1970. It sold for 75 cents. And again there was time for festivities, in this instance an ‘olla podrida’, a mixture or hodgepodge of entertainment.
