Refipe cover

In December 2004, University Library staff under the leadership of Dinah Dunavan, the daughter of Llewelyn Richards, a Wellington-based hand-craft printer, printed a recipe book. As usual, for those inexperienced in setting type, there were occasional errors, albeit small ones. Because there was no sample ‘long s’, a decision was made to use an ‘f’ for the title: Refipe. Someone had suggested chipping off the cross bar extensions on an ‘f’, as earlier printers would have done, but this was deemed unacceptable. Thirty copies were printed.
