The project for the 2004 Printer in Residence programme was to print Faces in the Water, a long unpublished poem by local Otago poet Brian Turner. Dr John Holmes, the 2004 printer in resident, printed the ten-page text and Oamaru artist John Mitchell supplied five interpretative woodcut images. Artist Inge Doesburg printed the images. Sixty copies were printed on hand-made Italian Tiepolo paper. Not bound, it was wrapped in a crimson folder with silk ties. Greater awareness of the Library press facilities and the publication was achieved by seminars to students and staff of the University, good media coverage, and a very successful book launch, held eventually at Peter Rae Gallery in Moray Place.
