Dr Maslen, along with Don Jamieson (librarian, Medical Library), Denis McEldowney and the English honours class of 1964, created a dummy copy of Dallas’s Experiment with Form, an excellent way in which to help gauge the size of the job (12 pages) and determine such things as how much paper will be required. Below it is the end-result, showing the final layout of the poem ‘September’. Ruth Dallas was also particular about the cover of her book. Her letter to Maslen details layout trials of the cover, with a rejected version beside the final copy.
