Collection Two

Frank O'Connor was an incessant reviser of his stories. He also maintained a ruthless stance on the writer and writing: 'The writer has to have a good streak of solid selfishness to get his own work done. He should throw his wife out and make his children go out and work to support themselves at a really early age so he will be able to concentrate on his own writing. If his best friend drops in when he is writing, he should say: “Get the hell out.” Real dear friends won't mind.' On display is a compendium of O'Connor's short stories.
