A Gambler's Throw

A Gambler's Throw

Yeats once said somewhere that no Irishman was of any interest until he lost faith and been thrown out by his father.' So begins O'Connor's A Gambler's Throw, which is the text of a radio talk that he gave on Yeats on the 13th February 1966. The title of this limited edition publication comes from Yeats's The Green Helmet: 'The heart that grows no bitterer although betrayed by all;/ The hand that loves to scatter; the life like a gambler's throw...'.
