The Sydney-based Invincible Press produced mystery fiction novels and soft-cover digests from 1944 to about 1954. With a mix of American, British, and Australian authors, they published about one book per month. The firm also produced Invincible Detective Magazine, which contained syndicated American stories. Noticeably, almost all their publications were printed by ‘Truth’ and ‘Sportsman’ Ltd, in Brisbane or Melbourne. Here are three murder-crime titles, each moderately priced at 1s 6d or 1s 9d (decimalization came to Australia in February 1966), and with eye-catching (unsigned) covers to attract buyers.
