Rex Gold, Battery Bargain.

Rex Gold, Battery Bargain. Sydney: Calvert, [195-?]. Pulp Literature Special Collections PR9610.G64 B37

‘Behind the scenes of every race track there is a world of big time touts and petty racketeers, of dope schemes and battery bargains.’ So the scene is set for Rex Gold’s Battery Bargain, published by Calvert Publishers, who, operating from 1950 to 1960, produced romance, sports, crime and war digests. Calvert’s biggest seller was the Carl Dekker series, which featured Dekker, freelance writer and detective in adventures that took him to locations from Damascus to Zurich.
