One method employed by publishers to attract more readers is to establish a series, focussing on individual authors or types of fiction. Examples range from Commando War series, Western Saga series, and Libido series, to Roger Hunt series, Max Strong series, and Thriller Club series.

The issue rate was often prolific, so the numbered sequences inevitably run into the hundreds. In the romance genre, Invincible Press had their ‘Invincible Love Stories’ series, of which Marcia Gibbs’ No Farewell to Love (No.124) is an example, while Cavalcade had their ‘Love Affair Library’ which, in this instance, contains two romance stories in one volume.
