Leanne Ross imageLeanne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, Advertising and Marketing, with Honours, from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.

Leanne’s senior marketing management experience spans over a decade across the public, not-for-profit and commercial sectors. Leanne has twice won CIPR Gold awards for communications in two of Ireland’s largest charities and was commended in the country’s Outstanding Young Communicator award (2015). 

In recent years, Leanne successfully ran a global consultancy business working with brands in the US, UK, UAE and New Zealand. Her sector experience spans startups, sporting institutions, construction, financial services, eCommerce, hospitality, blockbuster movies and mobile gaming. 

Leanne is a published author of bestselling business book “Talk Is Cheap: The Digital PR Your Startup Needs But Can’t Afford.”

Leanne has lectured at the University of Ulster, the Southern Regional College (Ireland) and the University of Otago, as well as keynote speaking at high profile conferences “Social Media Belfast” and “Digital DNA Northern Ireland.”

Leanne is a Young Enterprise and ShadowTech mentor. She is a member of the TechWeek Dunedin Steering Group and Women in Business Dunedin, and works closely with Startup Dunedin and Audacious, the student entrepreneurship programme.

Leanne’s Teaching Responsibilities include:

  • First semester – Marketing Management (MART 112), Sports Marketing (MART 207), Digital Marketing (MART 308)
  • Second semester – Master of Entrepreneurship (MENTR 414), Marketing Management (MART 112), Integrated Marketing Communications (MART 201), Products to Market (MART 211)
  • Summer School – Digital Marketing (MART 308)
