Dunedin is an open and spacious city with plenty of green areas as well as cafes and bars. Most housing in and around the city has outdoor areas and gardens and there are no traffic problems so getting around is stress-free.
Most MBA students decide to live in the many apartments, studios and shared houses, called flats that nestle around the campus in North Dunedin. This proximity enhances the youthful vibrancy that is a feature of Dunedin life and means living within easy walking distance of the Business School and central Dunedin. Others prefer a sea view, quieter setting or a larger family home in a nearby suburb but no one is more than a five minute drive away from class.
Finding a house
The MBA Support Team will assist to ensure that all MBA students find somewhere comfortable to live while in Dunedin. A useful place to browse what houses are available in Dunedin is on the popular New Zealand auction and re-sale sites:
Arrival / short-term accommodation
When you first arrive in Dunedin it is important that you have some accommodation organised (even if only short term). When you arrive here you may have travelled a great distance and might be experiencing jet-lag. We recommend that you have somewhere organised to go to once you’re off the plane. There are a number of short term options available around campus; we recommend the Business School's Executive Residence – just ask us and we can assist you to book this at a competitive rate.
