The University of Otago Business School has developed New Zealand’s first national MBA Case Competition. The inaugural case competition was held in October 2019 and the Otago MBA student team came away with the win.
What is the MBA Case Competition?
Competing teams are provided with a hypothetical business problem to solve. Team members are given four hours to devise a strategy, before presenting their solution to a panel of judges. The competition is generally held over the course of a day, and the best strategy wins the competition.
The MBA Case Competition consisted of seven teams of four students who are studying towards a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA). The teams were from the following New Zealand universities:
- Auckland University of Technology (AUT)
- Massey University
- University of Auckland
- University of Canterbury
- University of Otago
- University of Victoria Wellington
- Waikato University
