Why Alvin enjoys teaching in the MBA programme

The Otago MBA is globally recognized and is rated the third best online MBA worldwide by the CEO Magazine in 2019. It is practice-oriented and focuses on the application of business theories through case studies.

I have great enthusiasm for solving real life problems and I like to share my experience with my students. It is a pleasure to teach MBA students coming with different business problems and tackling those issues together. I enjoy teaching students from different cultures and countries while meeting their learning needs based on my international business experience.

What global perspective is reflected in your course/teaching?

The global dimensions of accounting are more important than ever because of the repaid growth in international capital markets and cross-border investment activity. Differences in culture, norms, business risks, and tax regulations all affect how business owners conduct their operations and financial reporting. One cannot simply study accounting without understanding the underlying accounting principles and business culture.
