Research
Safe Use of Medicines: My role at the NZ Pharmacovigilance Centre is to identify the adverse effects of medicines (and related substances) to provide evidence regarding the safe use of medicines and to identify how to best optimise the safe and effective use of medicines for patients.
As an academic pharmacist and practitioner, the role that pharmacists play in the delivery of medicine rationalisation, optimisation, and safety are at the centre of my research. My research in advanced clinical pharmacy practice has had significant local and international influence in the service delivery and enhanced patient outcomes arena.
This work extends to transition of care points and collaborative team approaches to medicine use and patient safety.
