Research

Associate Professor John Pickering joined the Department of Medicine in 2007 to study how to better diagnose kidney disease in intensive care. Since 2014 he has become involved in similar endeavours of how to more quickly and safely rule-out a heart attack in people presenting to the Emergency Department with chest pain. He comes from a physics background and was once part of the team that pioneered the use of lasers to remove birthmarks.
