Research

Dr Cameron Lacey (Te Atiawa) is a Senior lecturer at MIHI (UOC), psychiatrist working in old age psychiatry and medical director for Westcoast DHB. He has clinical and research experience working with Māori and whānau. His research includes Hauora Māori, psychological medicine, cardiovascular disease, neurology and medical education.

He is principle investigator on HRC funded project investigating Māori and Bipolar Disorder and is NI on three HRC funded projects nearing completion and principle investigator of an HRC-CMRF funded project.

His PhD examined the psychiatric comorbidity of depression in epilepsy, investigating both psychiatric and genetric risk factors. He is part of the Hauora Manawa Community Heart Study Team investigating heart disease amongst Māori.
