Overview
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology (School of Biomedical Sciences) has a very active postgraduate research programme. At any given time, the Department has approximately 35 PhD students and 10 MSc students, plus many more undertaking 400-level studies.
Many of our the Department's postgraduate students present their research at local, national, and international conferences, and may be supported by funds from the Department. Postgraduate students also present their work at department postgraduate colloquia and department seminars.
Fourth-year students undertake an original research project and can continue on to further postgraduate study, such as an MSc or PhD.
