The Neuroscience programme at the University of Otago Medical School offers a number of options for postgraduate study. Which programme is right for you will depend on your goals and your prior training.
Diploma for Graduates (DipGrad)
The Neuroscience Diploma for Graduates is for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a subject other than Neuroscience. It can lead on to further postgraduate study in Neuroscience.
Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc(Hons))
The Neuroscience BSc(Hons) programme is open to students who have completed a BSc (majoring in Neuroscience) that included five 300-level Neuroscience papers.
Master of Science (MSc)
The MSc in Neuroscience is available as a one-year or two-year programme:
- The one-year MSc is for students who have completed four years' Neuroscience study (incorporating research experience)
- The two-year MSc is for students who have completed a BSc majoring in Neuroscience
The Neuroscience PhD programme is for students who already have an MSc or BSc(Hons) in Neuroscience or a Neuroscience related field.
