September 2018 : Professor Gerald Tannock on TV3's Newshub: study finds little benefit to taking probiotics

Microbiome Otago's Professor Gerald Tannock featured on TV3's Newshub, commenting on research which has found little if any benefit to taking probiotics.

In fact, taking probiotics after a course of antibiotics may even delay the recolonisation of normal beneficial bacteria. Instead, such supplements would be best tailored to the individual.

August 2017: Dr Xochitl Morgan features on "The Conscious Adventurer" radio show

Microbiome Otago member Dr Xochitl Morgan was interviewed on Otago Access Radio (OAR) to discuss how the microbial communities of the gut affect our health and wellbeing, and how the choices we make can influence it. "The Conscious Adventurer" is a Tuesday lunchtime radio show hosted by clinical psychologist Dr Kumari Valentine, focusing on becoming kinder to ourselves, each other, and our world.
